Leaders of the New Patriotic Party, have outrightly rejected Dr. Bawumia’s Nasara and Early Congress proposals for the amendment of the party’s constitution.
The proposal according to some leading members of the NPP, is an agenda to satisfy his presidential ambitions which are being described as greed.
According to the vice president’s proposal, there must be Nasara representative at every polling station and this is intended to create close to 40,000 extra delegates to vote in favour of the Vice President.
Also, his push for an early congress he believes is to disallow Alan Kyerematen enough time to campaign.
However, his motive has been foiled as his proposal could not make it to the table of decision.
Some party stalwarts have said, the argument in the proposed amendment is not sustainable and unjustifiable. Nasara Coordinators are enough. We all witnessed the outcome when a special ministry was designated for Zongo Development.
Whereas others have described the proposal as diabolic and divisive.
