Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyerematen on behalf of HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with the visiting Minister for Trade and Industry of Rwanda, Hon. Béata Habyarimana, at the Africa Trade House.
The MOU between Ghana and Rwanda is aimed at strengthening and developing trade ties between the two countries, as well as expanding and diversifying commercial exchanges among private sector operators.
It is envisaged that through this Agreement, Ghana could become an entry point for Rwandan investments in West Africa while Rwanda, on the other hand, becomes a strategic entry point for Ghana into the Central and Eastern African Markets.
Present at the ceremony were two deputies of the sector, Hon. Herbert Krapa and Hon. Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei as well as captains of industries and other state agency heads.
Earlier, Mr. Kyerematen held a bilateral meeting with the Minister for Commerce, Trade and Industry of Zambia, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga (MP).
The meeting focused on ways to increase trade and investment between Ghana and Zambia within the framework of the Zambia – Ghana Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC) signed in 2017 and the AfCFTa.
