The Bono Regional New Patriotic Party Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye has been granted bail in the sum of GHc100, 000 with two sureties.
This was after he pleaded not guilty to two charges of Publication of false news to cause fear and alarm and offensive conduct Conducive to the breach of the peace.
Mr. Baffoe was detained by the Police Tuesday evening after he accused former President John Mahama of planning to stage a coup in the country.
The Police said his claims are untrue.
However, it is reported that the two sureties are to deposit their passports and valid ID to the registrar of the court.
The prosecution, the court said, is to file disclosures and witness statements within two weeks.
The court presided over by Her Honour Adelaide Abui Keddy has adjourned the case to March 9, 2022 for Case Management Conference.
