*NPP shall present Dr. Bawumia for 2024 as Presidential candidate ONLY IF NDC will also present a NORTHERNER who is a MUSLIM as the Presidential candidate for 2024*
We have been told that, John Mahama has said that, NPP will not give the Presidential ticket to Bawumia when the time comes because just like him Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is from the Northern part of Ghana.
I, Alhaji Musah Kassim is a genuine Muslim, Islamic Scholar and come from the Northern part of Ghana and I wish to state that, the comments by incompetent John Mahama cannot win the Flagbearership for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on a silver platter.
John Mahama was given the opportunity to lead NDC not because he was from the Northern part of Ghana. He was given the opportunity to lead because of the unfortunate death of Prof. Atta Mills on July 24, 2012 with only 5 months to the 2012 general election. Before the death of Prof. Atta Mills, he was already elected by the Delegates of NDC in Sunyani on 8th July 2011, a bitter contest between Prof. Mills and Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, the Wife of the Founder of NDC, J. J. Rawlings.
Until the death of Prof. Mills, no northerner has been able to lead NDC into a national Presidential election in Ghana. The truth of the matter is that, since 1992, NDC except 2004 always present CHRISTIAN-CHRISTIAN TICKET for the national Presidential elections.
Since 1992, NDC has NEVER produced a MUSLIM VICE-PRESIDENT before and NO MUSLIM has ever contested as the PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE on the Ticket of NDC.
In NDC, they believe and accept the fact that according to Fiifi Kwetey, “NO MUSLIM Can become President in Ghana” because Ghana is predominantly Christian. I, Alhaji Musah Kassim agrees with the assumption of NDC on this.
Christian John Mahama cannot choose a Muslim Bawumia for NPP as the Presidential candidate for 2024.
