Renowned security analyst, Mr. Adib Saani , has warned that the recent insecurity situation in the Upper West Region of Ghana could be disincentive for investors who may be interested in investing in the region
The expert has therefore cautioned government to take immediate measures to ensure that there is lasting peace, security and stability in the Upper West Region, in a telephone interview with Daily Ghanaian Guide.
It would be recalled that the Upper west Region has recorded numerous case of violence, robbery and mob action among other. This worrying trend has raised concerns among many residents and nonresidents alike.
The Upper West Region has seen some major investments in recent years, particularly in areas of mining, commerce and tourism.
In the words of Mr. Saani, the major players in mining industry in particular who have already invested heavily in the region may be discouraged if the situation persist.
“Government intervention is much required now to resolve this issue” he said.
