Adutwum flouts Party directive on campaign materials ahead of NPP Delegates Conference

Former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has flouted a clear directive issued by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) barring the mounting of advertising boards and display of paraphernalia endorsing flagbearer aspirants ahead of the party’s National Delegates Conference.

A large roadside billboard bearing Dr. Adutwum’s image and branding has been prominently mounted near Shiashie, along a major route leading to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium—venue for the two-day conference beginning today, Friday, July 18 to Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The billboard reads: “Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum welcomes everyone to the NPP National Delegates Conference 2025”.

Observers say this move runs contrary to internal guidelines issued ahead of the highly anticipated conference, which cautioned delegates, supporters, and aspirants against any show of favoritism, particularly in the form of branded clothing, billboards, banners, or other promotional materials.

The measure was intended to prevent unnecessary tension and foster unity as the party inches closer to its January 2026 presidential primaries.

The party is yet to respond formally to the incident, but sources within the NPP suggest that disciplinary action could be considered if aspirants continue to breach the rules.
