Volta Region to get share of the national cake — Mahama Assures

Former President John Dramani, on a “thank you tour” in the Volta Region has promised

them a fair share of the national cake. Mr. Mahama is poised that, the NDC will address

all developmental challenges in the region.

According to the skilled orator, the NDC is responsible for the development of the

Region, hence they would ensure that its needs are attended to.

Delivering his thank you address, the former president was quick to add that, NDC got

from the Volta Region, the highest votes for any Party in any Region, in the country, and

remained its proud stronghold.

Mr. Mahama alleged that majority of projects including; roads, and sea defense walls

initiated by the NDC in the Region are abandoned and added to calls to re-open the

border with Togo, saying it affected the economy of the border territory.

He was quick to add that the Volta Region suffered its share of nationwide youth

unemployment and reaffirmed the NDC’s willingness to work with the government on

addressing the challenge.

Mr. Mahama met with Chiefs of the Asogli State, and religious leaders in the Region,

appealing for support for the NDC’s efforts at electoral reforms.

He later met supporters of the Party to solicit their support for the Party’s re-

organization before departing for the Oti Region.
