Story by Bright Adjei
In today’s Ghana, the youth aren’t just asking for change, they are demanding proof. The agenda of the NDC to reset , has been met with a fair amount of skepticism because the talk is not matching the action . Enter Dr. Bryan Acheampong, a figure of growing trust among young people, not because of slogans, but because of results. So far amongst the lot aspiring to lead the NPP in 2028, his story is one of active leadership, forward-thinking strategy, and genuine connection. He has built businesses that inspire us young people to aspire for greatness. And he did it quietly and now at the appointed time, we are seeing the fruits of that quiet labour.
If ever there was a moment for the NPP to break from its past, it is now. The precedent is there: when President Kufour took over from Professor Adu Boahen after his first attempt, it signaled a bold step forward—a generational shift with fresh energy and broader appeal. Ghana today finds itself in a similar season.
The last two years have not been easy. Hardships still linger in the memories of citizens ,especially the youth, and the response they’re seeking from leadership is not defensiveness. It is honest reflection, a sense of regret, and a renewed appeal to hope. This is what Bryan brings to the table: a fresh face, a proven doer, and a man known for his discipline. Bryan is a leader who shows up. Young and young at heart, the youth see him as someone who understands their challenges and brings real solutions to the table.
Bryan’s experience in agriculture and business is helping create fresh opportunities. During his time at the Ministry of Agriculture, he launched the Youth in Agriculture program which is helping farming become a space of pride and innovation. His ventures in tourism, tech, and hospitality—like Rock City Hotel and INTU-IT—are giving young people a new wave of jobs, training, and career paths. This isn’t just employment—it’s empowerment.
Through the Bryan Acheampong Foundation, dozens of students are receiving full support. Currently 75 are at Achimota School alone, fully boarded and tuition paid for. These scholarships go beyond fees; they help shape futures. Bryan’s belief is simple: talent should never go to waste because of poverty. His actions reflect that.
Bryan is looking to lead with technology and a vision. And technology is his forte. He has a PHD in Information Systems from the University of Ghana. At UniMAC, he recently proposed a National Skills Plan to help young people master the digital world while keeping their ethical compass intact.
“We won’t compete with machines. We’ll work with them. But we must prepare now.”
That was his challenge and has become his promise.
What makes Bryan stand out isn’t just what he says. It’s what he builds. His model blends visionary thinking with everyday action: policies that work, mentorship that matters, and solutions that stick. In each effort, the youth of Ghana find not just inspiration but direction.
He has won four elections in Abetifi by margins of 72% and beyond, a testament to his delivery on his promises. Thrift shops for the elderly in several communities, hundreds of jobs , support for teachers and nurses in the community are all part of a delivery .
“Youthful Bryan” isn’t a nickname—it’s a movement. One grounded in service, backed by data, and fueled by belief in the next generation. Bryan Acheampong isn’t just speaking to Ghana’s youth. He’s creating a platform where they lead.
Our delegates must listen to the voices of the youth and bring them their man. To reshape, renew and rebuild the badly bruised elephant; the NPP. Its no longer business as usual.
