It’s Alan’s turn to lead NPP -Founding Member

Mr. Joseph Amoah, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has served the party well and deserves the support of all the members to lead the party to victory in 2024.

He said anyone who serves the party well would be accepted provided that person was prepared to lead the party.

According to him, if Mr. Alan Kyerematen makes up his mind to contest the flagbearership position of the party,  majority of the faithful would endorse him.

Mr. Amoah, who was speaking to the media on the way forward for the NPP in the 2024 general elections, said the party has a tradition, principles, loyalty, and commitment, because of that one had to serve it well before one could be accepted for a position.

He cited the Sunyani Congress of the party, where former President J.A. Kufuor told Nana Akufo-Addo that after him (Kufuor) Nana Akufo-Addo would be the next president, and truly, it came to pass.

Following the party’s tradition, Alan Kyerematen should be president after Nana Akufo-Addo, who has proven to be a man of vision and passion for the welfare of the people in general.

According to Mr. Amoah, Mr. Kyerematen would be prepared to provide employment for the teeming youth to enjoy a decent living.

Touching on the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship position, Mr. Amoah pointed out that Chairman Bernard AntwiBoasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi’s tenure, was about to end, describing him as a talkative who worked less.

“The party needs a person who can champion the interest of party members and supporters,” cautioning that leadership does not mean bragging and talking, but rather working for the party.”

Mr. Amoah said he once supported ChairmanWontumi, but this time around he wanted to endorse the candidature of Kwabena Owusu Aduomi if he decided to contest.
