The Danquah Institute has organized a virtual lecture to sensitize the general public on eye care with an
emphasis on GLAUCOMA in commemoration of this, year’s World Sight Day. The lecture was followed by free
eye screening at the Institute. Several Board members, past directors, fellows, and staff took turns to undergo eye screening.
Delivery of the lecture at the Institute was an assistant lecturer at the School of Medicine at the University for
Development Studies, Dr. Issah Imoro, and assisted by Doctors Agnes Adu and Awisi Asafo-Adjei, both
optometrists who engaged participants in, questions and answers session.
Together, they gave further insight into the early detection and management of glaucoma. They emphasized
the fact that there is no cure for glaucoma hence, the need for regular eye check-ups remains the best option to guard against glaucoma.
